History
The Down Syndrome Network of Montgomery County (DSNMC) was first founded as Parents of Children with Down Syndrome (PODS) in October 27, 1986. The name was changed to Down Syndrome Network of Montgomery County in 2007. The DSNMC has grown over the years to a $70,000 organization that organizes workshops with special speakers to educate parents and professionals, works closely with local organizations like the ARC of Montgomery County to provide support and resources to families with individuals with Down Syndrome (DS), does fundraiser's and promotes advocacy throughout local Universities and hospitals to educate students and health care professionals about DS. Our biggest accomplishment is our CAMPERSHIP program which provides financial assistance for summer programs to individuals with DS in Montgomery county.
