Mission
The mission of the Down Syndrome Network of Montgomery County is to provide support for families and friends of children with Down syndrome, networking opportunities to families and service providers, social opportunities to families and individuals with Down syndrome, and to promote research and advocacy by supporting the National Down Syndrome Society and the ARC of Montgomery County.
Our organization provides:
- Social opportunities for families and individuals with Down syndrome
- Support to new and expectant parents of babies with Down syndrome
- Resources on current research and best practices relative to individuals with Down Syndrome
- Information on accessing local and state resources and services in our community
- Opportunities for parents and service providers to network with each other and to learn and support each other through an email list serve and a quarterly newsletter
- Advocacy to enhance the lives of people with Down syndrome with a particular focus on educational, recreational and legislative opportunities.
DSNMC PHILOSOPHY

- We believe that a way a person with Down syndrome grows and develops is more like an average person than not.
- With love and support each family holds the key to the development and potential of a person with Down syndrome.
- A person with Down syndrome becomes a contributing member of society through educational opportunities, vocational programs and a supportive community.
