Buddy Walk®
Join DSNMC and the National Down Syndrome Society for the Buddy Walk® on Washington!
February 29th and March 1st 2012
The Buddy Walk on Washington is an annual two-day advocacy experience that brings the Down syndrome community together to advocate for public policies that impact the lives of people with Down syndrome and their families. Advocates come face to face with Members of Congress and their staff on Capitol Hill to advance education, research and healthcare for people with Down syndrome. Attendees will participate in an interactive advocacy training, attend a celebration and advocacy awards dinner and spend a day on Capitol Hill. The experience is perfectly suited for self-advocates, family members, professionals, affiliate leaders and members and anyone else who wants to make a difference for people with Down syndrome.

THE 2012 DSNMC BUDDY WALK® will be held on Saturday, October 6th. Additional details regarding registration and location will be posted in the near future.
This annual event is much more than an awareness walk. The day’s carnival‐like atmosphere will include amusement activities, arts and crafts, games, music, refreshments and sponsor displays.
The goal of the annual Buddy Walk® is to promote awareness and acceptance of people with Down syndrome in Montgomery County and beyond. The Buddy Walk® is also the primary fundraising activity of DSNMC, a support network, advocacy group and information provider to families whose lives have been touched by Down syndrome. We are a volunteer organization, and 100% of the funds we raise go directly to support the programs and services of DSNMC and the National Down Syndrome Society.
